TUMTUM began with a simple longingthe desire to taste home when far away. Growing up in Lebanon, the kitchen was the heart of every gathering. The scent of freshly ground zaatar, the sweetness of carob molasses drizzled over tahini, the tangy brightness of sumac on a perfect fattoush.
When we moved abroad, we found that these flavorsso essential to our identitywere nearly impossible to find in their authentic form. The products available were pale imitations, lacking the depth and character that made Lebanese cuisine so special.
So we went back to Lebanon. We traveled through villages, met with families who had been making these products for generations, and built relationships with artisans who refused to compromise on quality. TUMTUM was born from these connections.
Every product tells a story of Lebanese tradition, passed down through generations of artisans and families.
We partner with small-batch producers who prioritize quality over quantity, ensuring every jar meets our exacting standards.
From farm to pantry, we maintain ethical relationships with our producers and minimize our environmental footprint.
“Every time I open a jar of our zaatar, I'm transported back to my grandmother's kitchen in the mountains of Lebanon. The scent, the color, the texturethey're exactly as I remember them from childhood.
Creating TUMTUM has been a labor of love. It's about more than selling products; it's about sharing a piece of my heritage with the world. When you cook with our ingredients, you're not just making a mealyou're participating in a tradition that spans generations.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Welcome to our table.”
